Helena Yip, MD
Dr. Yip serves as the Director of the Voice and Swallowing Center. She earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed her residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at UC Davis in 2006, followed by a fellowship in Laryngology and Voice at Stanford University. Dr. Yip is committed to caring for underserved populations. Before moving to Tucson, she worked as full time private practice otolaryngologist in northern California for nine years and a very important part of her practice included working at a county hospital. She found it particularly gratifying serving a population that was primarily Spanish speaking and with low resources. She now volunteers regularly with her teenage children at the Ronald McDonald House, Z mansion, and Men’s and Women’s Shelter in Tucson. Her clinical interests include voice and swallowing disorders. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Yip is passionate about medical education. She mentors both undergraduate and medical students in research and is actively involved in teaching and guiding future otolaryngologists.
